The Challenge

On closing the doors to the Lupa franchise, Chris needed a refresh in order to fully explore his creative visions for his unrestrained restaurant space. Our challenge was to wholly differentiate the brand from his previous restaurant and align closely to Chris’ personality and ideas - from conceptualising to branding in order to reimagine his entire restaurant space.

The Solution

We took a partnership approach with Chris to ensure we delivered a brand identity intrinsically linked to his core values and ideals. It was essential to start this process with a Brand DNA and Vision Workshop before embarking on the development of the visual identity.

To bring the brand to life, we ensured that we had a definitive narrative for The Black Rabbit to glean from. The carrot icon is intrinsic to who Chris is and what he envisions for his offering - with expectations of fresh, seasonal, wholesomeness. The carrot is rooted and grounded, but also has a nuance of depth - an allusion to the element of surprise.

The classic tones of fresh cream white, squid ink black, and nutmeg brown blend beautifully to bring the feeling of wholesomeness and authenticity to life.

This project has allowed us to fully immerse ourselves at every brand touch point.
